The person leading your ceremony matters more than most couples realize.

Anyone can get ordained online and show up with a script. What separates a forgettable ceremony from one your guests talk about for years is the person holding the mic: how prepared they are, how well they know your story, and how confidently they lead the room.

I'm Chris Dickens. Here's why couples trust me with that moment.

Why I Do This Work

A close friend asked me to officiate his wedding back in 2010. I said yes, spent weeks preparing, and delivered something that made the room laugh, cry, and lean in from start to finish.

I've been doing it ever since. Over 700 weddings later, it still matters to me the same way it did that first time.

My Background

I'm a former stand-up comedian, an ordained pastor. That combination is why my ceremonies feel both genuinely funny and genuinely meaningful. It's not a formula. It's just who I am.

I'm also a high school teacher. I write for a live audience every day, adjust in real time, and have learned that the best delivery is the one that meets people exactly where they are.

I hold a Bachelor's in Theology from Vanguard University and a Master's in Teaching from USC. I've been featured in Vogue, BRIDES, and Black Brides, and I've received multiple WeddingWire Couples' Choice Awards.

More About Me

I'm married and the proud dad of three kids. I grew up in Southern California, spent a few years in Colorado, and have been back in the LA area ever since. Outside of ceremonies and the classroom, I train jiu-jitsu, geek out over Star Wars, Star Trek, comics, and anime, and follow USC football with more investment than is probably healthy.

I like people. That's not a marketing line. It's the actual reason this work fits me.

Let’s Create Your Ceremony

Dates fill quickly, and I only take a limited number of weddings each year to give every couple my full attention.

Choosing an officiant is a big decision. Even if you don’t book me, I want to help.
